ESDM Targets 830,000-850,000 Barrels Oil Lifting for 2016

Jakarta - The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry has set a target for national oil lifting at 830,000 to 850,000 barrels per day for the 2016 State Budget basic assumption, while gas lifting target was set at 1,100 to 1,200 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD).

"No matter how high the lifting assumption, we will state the realistic number that can be achieved," said ESDM Minister Sudirman Said on Thursday, June 11, 2015.

Sudirman said that the government is not yet able to announce the lifting figure that has been adjusted to the annual work plan and budget (WP&B) of each production sharing contract holders (KKKS). Lifting figure from the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) and each KKKS can only be adjusted in September to October.

SKK Migas deputy chief M.I. Zikurillah said that oil and gas lifting prediction in 2016 can only be announced on September to October 2015 after WP&B from each KKKS has been completed. The lifting has entered the revision of 2015 working plan and budget, while working plan and budget for 2016 are not yet ready.

In response to the 2016 oil and gas lifting prediction, Ramson Siagian, member of the House of Representatives' energy commission, suggested each KKKS to submit their oil and gas lifting prediction in 2016.
