Lube Base Oil mostly has Hydrocarbon compounds of 20-45 carbon number and can be classified into 4 primary types: Paraffins, Napthenes or Cycloparaffins, Aromatics and Heteroatom compounds. Heteroatom Compounds contain in addition to compound sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen. These compounds are removed because they tend to result in base oil instability or low viscosity index.

The Vacuum Distillation Unit separates the oil into the desired viscosity grades of Hydrocarbon compounds group between 20 and 38 carbon number which we call lube distillates.Iso-Dewaxing uses a catalyst to convert waxy materials into iso-paraffins. This results in higher yield, lower pour point and higher VI. Hydrofinishing involves treating the base oils with hydrogen which removes 1~3 ring Aromatic compounds.

Detail :

Crude Distillation Unit (CDU):
To separate the petroleum fractions based on differences of boiling points at 1 atm pressure conditions (atmospheric).

High Vacuum Unit (HVU):
To separate the petroleum fractions based on differences of boiling points at conditions less than 1 atm pressure (vacuum).

Hydro Cracking Complex (HCC):
To cracking hydrocarbons having long molecular chains into shorter hydrocarbons with molecular chain having a molecular weight lighter by using H2 gas and catalyst.

Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU):
Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU) to process Unconverted Oil (UCO) from Hydrocracking Unit (HCU) to produce 100D/150D which is used as a feed of Catalytic-Dewaxing Unit (CDW).

Catalytic De-waxing Unit (CDW):
CDW (Catalytic Dewaxing Unit) produces the Lube base Oil(100N, 150N) by processing distillate(100D and 150D) from VDU in continuous blocked operation mode.
